My name is Jamie Paloney and my sons name is Camren Allen. He was diagnosed with craniosynostosis, a rare condition causing an infants skull to grow wrong and their soft spots to close prematurely. If not treated by surgery he could’ve had deformities, brain damage, and even death.
He had skull reconstruction surgery at 6 months old and has to have another at age five to close what they opened because he still has an open soft spot from his surgery that isn’t closed yet. He is almost three now and is having a lot of speech and development delays..
They don’t think its secondary to his condition. He is an only child and I don’t work due to his health issues.. So its made it very hard to be able to afford things I want for him. He goes to speech therapy and occupational therapy twice a week and has sensory issues as well as hypotonia, pica(eating things he shouldn’t), and had laryngomalacia which has subsided thankfully! ( i had to thicken his liquids) im still looking into a lot with him.. Its a lot of drs, specialists, follow ups..He is getting evaluated for autism to make sure he isn’t on the spectrum, however his drs don’t suspect it.
He is The sweetest little boy and full of laughs and smiles and is always so happy. He has been through so much, and still it continues. I’d love to have something he’d love that could help him learn and his speech and development.. I wasn’t him to be ok and start progressing more and be able to put him in normal school instead of special ed. I think this could help him.
Camren Allen has blonde hair and blue eyes and the sweetest smile. Lol Fingers crossed and I hope I can win this for him !
