Special Needs Children Create Their Own Paths to Learning with Bluebee Pal
My autistic team has been working with Bluebee Pals, the Bluetooth-enabled talking plushies as part of our webisode series that educates kids about autism. What has fascinated me is that these aren’t just toys but tech buddies that are helping children with special needs learn. Therapists and SPED teachers are saying that many of the children are more responsive and eager to learn when interacting with a Bluebee Pal.-Jodi Murphy: Geek Club Books…http://geekclubbooks.com
“I used our Bluebee Pals along with your stories and the kids went crazy,” gushed Helen H. Wagner, M.S., CCC-SLP.
“They loved reading along with Lion, Bear, Zebra, and Sheep. I noticed increased active engagement during our lesson. This translated to improved retell skills and improved memory for main idea and comprehension of important story facts. The REAL joy of the lessons was when the students recorded and retold the story, in sequence. The Bluebee Pals were talking in THEIR voices. They were sooooo excited! Oh! How they love recording and listening to themselves. They were eager to email their own recorded narratives to our speech room, their teacher, and their parents.”
